Outstanding Practice Winner

In some respects, the DFD Partners business model is so straightforward it begs the question of why someone didn’t think of it years ago.

Founded 18 months ago by Devon Drew, DFD is a fintech platform designed to match diverse investors with diverse financial advisors and diverse asset managers. Those groups are looking for each other, Drew said.

“Our whole adage is leveraging technology to help advisors find their next client, and to help diverse investment managers attract clients who want portfolios to mimic who they are culturally and morally,” he said.

“We start with going to multicultural and diverse advisor segments at advisory firms and onboard their advisors,” Drew said. “We then take their actionable data and cross-reference that with their ideal investment solution and ideal client and arm them with the tools and resources to match and connect them. We allow accredited investors to search out differentiated investment solutions, and we give options for advisors and accredited investors to search diverse backgrounds and status.”

A veteran of Vanguard, American Century, Alger and J.P. Morgan, Drew has seen enough of the wealth management space to appreciate the potential of his new platform, which has already attracted 1,700 financial advisors searching for differentiated asset managers and clients.
