Diversity Champions

Founded by people of different nationalities, Ethic promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion. The Ethic team hails from 14 countries and nearly half its leadership is female. These unique backgrounds provide diverse perspectives and life experiences within the firm. Ethic is inclusive in the way it operates, which includes lunch and learns to talk about culture and history, mindfulness sessions and group meditations by firm founders. Another way Ethic includes diversity is through the various work experiences that its employees bring. For instance, one of the firm’s first hires as an asset manager was someone who previously served as a creative director. The founders realized the importance of connecting and storytelling.

“It is crucial to look beyond our immediate network and open up the hiring process, not depending on immediacy of what we already know, having a wider funnel of candidates and different backgrounds,” said Jay Lipman, founder of Ethic.
