Diversity Champions

Empower Retirement is committed to diversity through partnering with local and diverse colleges. It offers internships to attract talent for full-time roles. Recently, the firm launched a new financial services associate benefit-eligible role that is full-time in the summer and part-time during the school year to introduce diverse talent. Empower Retirement offers seven business resource groups (BRG) that include Asian, Black, disability, Latinx, LGBTQ+, veterans, and women. Each BRG focuses on career advancement, community engagement, cultural education, and business growth. The firm also includes a 14-person diversity and inclusion council that monitors and champions its strategy on diversity and inclusion.

“One of our values is collaboration, to get people from different walks of life and perspectives to do better things for clients,” said Jason Clark, senior manager of diversity, inclusion and campus relations. “Our mission is to help America save for retirement. We have to be mindful of different kinds of communities, any disparities of wealth, so all people are able to save for retirement in a good way.”
